Abstract: The authors have learned the frequency of the blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in 9 ethnical groups, living in Bulgaria. 5278 people of the both sexes have been studied. There are significant differences in the distribution of the blood groups ABO and Rhesus factor. These differences are consequence based on the nonsignificant variations between individual groups. The subgroup analysis however shows significantly higher frequency of the blood group 0(alpha, beta) in Greeks and relating to Rhesus factor in Karakachans compared to native Bulgarian population.
