Blood group antigens and possible associations with several diseases
Blood group antigens and possible associations with several diseases
Serological characteristics in 5 groups of patients and possible associations were investigated. In the group of patients with malignant melanoma, association was not found. Within patients in the group with chronic urinary infections, increased frequency of blood group B and non-secretor was found indicative, thus investigation will be continued. Association of blood group 0 and non-secretor was confirmed in the group of children with duodenal ulcers (this association was confirmed in adults and documented in literature). Association between Lewis system and schizophrenia has not been investigated until now. Relatively high frequency of Le (a b-) phenotype and relative risk of 4,0 were found in those patients.
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor according to some social important chronic pathology
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor according to some social important chronic pathology
Authors have analyzed 5-years material of blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor among 2008 men and 3145 women having some social important diseases as gastric and duodenal ulcer, chlolithiasis, benignant and malignant tumors with different localization. A positive correlation between blood group 0(alpha, beta) and ulcer disease and between group A(beta) and some neoplastic processes on the whole (for both sexes) is determined. Especially for women the same blood group is connected with higher frequency of carcinoma uterus and ovaries.
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor among different ethnic groups
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor among different ethnic groups
The authors research blood group distribution of the blood system ABO and Rhesus factor. 6598 persons of the both sexes have been studied. All of them are classified in 8 groups with similar ethnogenese. There are statistically significant differences between 8 groups according to blood group distribution of ABO and Rhesus factor (p<0,001). But inter group analysis not only different but some similar distribution too.
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor and cardiovascular pathology
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor and cardiovascular pathology
The authors search for some connection to congenital cardiac diseases and blood group belonging. The results of blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor distribution in 250 Macedonians and 90 Albanians (Macedonia) with congenital cardiac pathology are compared to those of two same populations. There aren't any significant differences related neither to ABO blood system nor to Rhesus factor (p>0,05).
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in different ethnic groups living in R. Bulgaria
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in different ethnic groups living in R. Bulgaria
The authors have learned the frequency of the blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in 9 ethnical groups, living in Bulgaria. 5278 people of the both sexes have been studied. There are significant differences in the distribution of the blood groups ABO and Rhesus factor. These differences are consequence based on the nonsignificant variations between individual groups. The subgroup analysis however shows significantly higher frequency of the blood group 0(alpha, beta) in Greeks and relating to Rhesus factor in Karakachans compared to native Bulgarian population.
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in patients with appendectomies
Blood group systems ABO and Rhesus factor in patients with appendectomies
The authors research 182 patients with appendectomia (55 males and 127 women) for their blood group belonging to the systems ABO and Rhesus factor (based on same data about family predisposition to appendicitis). The result are compared to the data of the blood group belonging to the both systems in 1080 Bulgarians. These data don't show any significant differences between two groups not either related to blood group system ABO (p>0.05, K=3, γ2 = 1,9072) not to Rhesus factor (p>0.05, K=l, γ2 =1,6537).
Blood group systems ABO and rhesus factor in South Western region of Balkan's peninsula
Blood group systems ABO and rhesus factor in South Western region of Balkan's peninsula
The authors research 3029 people of the both sexes living in South Western region of Balkan's peninsula according to their blood group systems ABO and Rhesus belongings. The observed people are divided in 5 nationalities Montenegros, Vlahs, Macedonians, Greeks and Albanians. The statistical analysis by standard shows that there are significant differences in blood group system's distribution (K=16, p<0,001, γ2= 41,6908) so as in Rhesus factor's (K=4, p<0,001, γ2= 22,9656). These results are based specialty to predominance frequency of the blood group 0 in Greeks and Albanians and a lower percentage of the negative Rhesus factor in Vlahs (6.39%) and Greeks (9.71%).
Blood group systems among different populations, living in specific climate and geographic conditions
Blood group systems among different populations, living in specific climate and geographic conditions
The authors try to analyze the environmental distribution of the blood groups (ABO blood group system and Rhesus factor) among people from different races. All researched persons (367) are shared in three groups as following: Arabs from North Africa, Negroes from Central Africa and relatively autochthonous Arabian population from Yemen and Kuwait. There are significant differences between blood group 0(alpha, beta) frequency among people from Arabia (66,38% and 37,38%) among Arabs in Africa. This fact can't be explained by the influence of the Negroid blood hereditary. On the other hand the similar climate conditions in North Africa and in the peninsula can't explain these differences too. There is a probability that ABO blood system was formed of aborigenal hereditary. Many blood genetic reactions were formed at times of popular immigrations in North Africa. The data of the Negroid populations are near by other published information.
Blood group systems and Rh factor in two national groups with different ethnogenesis
Blood group systems and Rh factor in two national groups with different ethnogenesis
Authors have investigated two national groups with different ethnogenesis. They are looking for the distribution of the blood group systems and Rh factor. German group consists of 207 and Arabian group - 359 adults (aged from 18 to 44). There are significant differences between two groups in ABO system (p<0,05) and Rh factor (p<0,001). The frequency of A and 0 blood groups in Germans is higher then in Arabs. Contrary B and AB groups are more frequent in Arabs. Negative Rh factor in Germans (20,29%) is over twice frequent then in Arabs (8.08%). The established data could be explained by different ethnogenesis, geographic and climate conditions.
Blood groups of AB0 and RH systems in some populations in Serbia
Blood groups of AB0 and RH systems in some populations in Serbia
We observed that the distribution of blood groups of AB0 system is in accordance with previous findings of our authors. Besides, data on the distribution of Rh negative groups in the adult populations studied in 1976,1977 and 1982 are in agreement with data from literature. However, the distribution of Rh negative groups is significantly decreased both in prematurely born twins (12.18%) and in maturely born babies (12.41%). We maintain that further studies are needed to confirm these results.
Blood subgroup a3 with irregular anti-a1 in family
Blood subgroup a3 with irregular anti-a1 in family
Blood subgroup A3 with irregular anti-A1 are dominant hereditary characteristics. Serologic characteristics are significant and both genetic markers are determined.
Blood-group belonging menarche and menopause in Armenians in Bulgaria
Blood-group belonging menarche and menopause in Armenians in Bulgaria
Blood-group belonging to the systems of ABO and Rhesus Factor of 448 individuals - Armenians was studied. The menarche and menopause of 101 women were explored as well. The authors report an underlined predominance of group A-52.01%. followed of О-24.78%, В-14.06% and AB-9.15% and it observe above 90% representation of under-groups A1 and A1B. The middle age of appearance of the menarche is 13 63 ages for the whole group but for the menopause is 48, 02 ages. In groups with more elderly individuals is established that the menarche appears in later age but the menopause comes earlier.
