The Duffy system of the blood groups was tested on the voluntary blood donors. The test was performed on 5,000 blood donor samples for the period of 10 years. The analyses were performed using the standard work methods with the aid of anti-serum imported from several foreign countries and produced by different producers, and then statistical processing of the data was carried out. Antigens of Duffy sistems Fya and Fyb are determined by the method of indirect anti-human-globuline tests (IAT), and are used test serums anti-Fya, anti-Fyb and anti-human-globuline serum. The obtained results for the antigens Fya and Fyb in comparison with the results form the area of the Republic of Serbia indicate that there are no statistical significance in relation to the frequencies of Duffy blood group system in Vojvodina. The frequencies of phenotypes are different but correlate with the results obtained in Serbia and in majority of European countries. The analyses of the results may confirm that, for the so far tested other blood group systems, the population of Vojvodina has particularity and specificity due to a great number of people belonging to different national communities living in it, and that this study completes a genetic map of blood groups presence and contributes to the overview of the genetic variability of Vojvodina population.
