The type of face growth in patients with malocclusion

By doing the analysis of profile telerenthenographics of 152 orthodonic patients from Niš we wanted to find the type of face growth and its distribution in relation to sagital skeletal ratio of the jaws, the coincidence of different face growth indices and the change of the size of B angle depending on the rotation type. More then half the subjects (53,29 per cent) have the rear face rotation type (children with normoclussion are dominant - 66,67 per cent) and 36,84 per cent are with the front rotation type (mostly children with distoclussion - 43,06 per cent). There is the absolute coincidence of all three face growth indices only in 30,26 per cent of all subjects. The largest coordination is found between the total of the Bjork polygon angles and the percentile ratio efface height (59,21 per cent). The value of B angle changes significantly depending on the face rotation type (the largest is with the rear type, and the smallest is with the from rotation type).
