The BiblioBalkans is an online platform aiming to provide a place for collaboration and exchange of information about scientific research in the field of Balkan Studies. The platform will host research utilities such as specialised bibliographic database and thematic bibliographies in Balkan Studies.

The Institute for Balkan Studies has the pleasure to announce the publication of its 53rd issue of the annual scientific journal BALCANICA.
Bilateral project “Semiotic landscapes of multilingual border regions”
Between October 10th and 16th, 2022, the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts welcomed the researchers of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, within the frames of the bilateral Serbian-German project “Semiotic landscapes of multilingual border regions”. The two year project explores the multilingual character of border regions of Central and South-Eastern Europe, looking into the different semiotic resources that shape the borderland, with a special focus on the Banat region.
Annual Meeting of the Gypsy Lore Society and Conference on Romani Studies
From 28th to 30th September 2022, the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Gypsy Lore Society and Conference on Romani Studies took place in the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade. The conference was organized by the Gypsy Lore Society and the Board for the study of life and customs of the Roma of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Dr Vojislav G. Pavlović, director of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, took part in the conference 1918. Demain la paix, which was held on 15 and 16 November 2018 in La Roch sur Yon. The conference was organized by the Centre Roland Mousnier, Sorbonne University, ICES, and the Mission du Centenaire. The title of Dr Pavlović’s paper was: La naissance de la Yougoslavie
