The dynamic of changes anthropological and clinic-laboratorical parameters during the controlled weight reduction
The dynamic of changes anthropological and clinic-laboratorical parameters during the controlled weight reduction
The medical High School Endocrinology Clinics doctors studied the dynamism of changes anthropological and clinic-laboratorical parameters during controlled weight reduction of 15 women suffering from obesity. They prescribed a modified diet therapy treatment for a period of 30 days, with daily energy intake of 1200 kJ. They found that the total weight reduction was 8,89 kg, or 9,36% of initial body weight, which was most intensive in the first 10 days of the treatment. Also, very significant unwanted reduction of the muscle body component, about 2,692 kg or 30,25% of complete loose was registered. The most intensive reduction in the first 10 days was explained by the fact that the muscle tissue has 70-75% water component. So on the first 10 days there was the significant loose of the body water, and small reduction of the muscle tissue protein component. The dynamic of changes body surface area completely follows up the dynamic of changes body mass and muscle component of body mass, during the treatment. During the reduction treatment the changes of clinic-laboratrical parameters registrate the reduction of glycaemia, cholesterolaemia, the complete triglyceridaemia HDL and LDL, as the way of reducing some risks of atherosclerotic diseases cardiovascular diseases and other health damages. The unwanted effect of the dietetic treatment was in the fact that the reduction of the body protein component was also registered in catabolical process, manifested by higher degree of creatinine, SGOT and SGPT concentrations.
The effects of physical education on the development of motor and situational abilities of students
The effects of physical education on the development of motor and situational abilities of students
The research was carried out on a sample of 52 examinees, of the male sex aged 12, ± 6 months. The aim of the research was to determine the effects of a year-long physical education programme on the development of motor and situational-motor abilities. The motor abilities represented the latent dimensions of explosive (three variables) and repetitive strength (three variables). For the evaluation of the quantitative differences between the initial and final measurements of the motor and situational-motor abilities both a multivariate and univariate variant analysis were performed. The results indicate that during the course of the experiment statistically significant changes did occur in the motor and situational-motor abilities of the students.
The elements of basketball as a method in remedial gymnastics
The elements of basketball as a method in remedial gymnastics
The spine, as one of the phylogenetically youngest segments of the human body, is subject to negative external factors. The deformations of the spine resulting form improper posture of the body or some other reasons, very quickly become fixed deformations. Remedial gymnastics is the best way for recovery in case of postural deformations, which has been confirmed by studies in our country and abroad. Basketball is used as a method in remedial gymnastics. The effects of basketball on the recovery in case of spinal deformations, as well as on the improvement of the general physiological status of the body, is positive, depending on its proper application. This work is an effort trying to provide an explanation of the effects of particular basketball elements on the spinal deformations in the sagittal and frontal planes. An analysis of the position of particular segments of the loco-motoric apparatus of a person while playing basketball as a dynamic game, leads to an assumption of positive and negative effects of basketball on the functionally deformed parts of the muscular-joint-skeletal apparatus of the man.
The elements of the modern in the ethnic life of long-lived people in the surroundings of the town of Nikšić
The elements of the modern in the ethnic life of long-lived people in the surroundings of the town of Nikšić
The research presented in this paper was carded out in 1997 in the Župa, the area comprising 12 villages with 7000 inhabitants. The author argues that the properties of the marital, family and social life of men and women, born at the very beginning of the 20th century, point to the fact that their had been much more healthy than the life of people living at the end of the 20th century. The long-lived people that we investigated are known to have lived lives that were equally difficult for both men and women but were nevertheless committed to the true values of life.
The estimation of the nourishment condition with adolescents in Sombor
The estimation of the nourishment condition with adolescents in Sombor
The nourishment has a significant influence on the physical and physiological characteristics, the functional ability and the health condition of organism. The aim of the work was to examine the nourishment condition among adolescents, on the basis of the body mass index value. The total number of the examined students was 709, 578 girls and 131 boys. They were all between 15 and 18 years old and they all attended the secondary medical school in Sombor. We measured the values of their body mass (kg) and body height (cm) and we calculated the body mass index value (BMI) according to the formula BMI (kg/m2) = body mass in kg/body height in m2. We used the World Health Organization's recommendations in our estimation of the nourishment level (Report of WHO consultations obesity 1997). As it can be seen in our results, most people of both sexes have normal weight. It means that 73, 28% of boys and 76, 64% of girls have normal weight. The undernourishment is more common with girls (15, 05%) than with boys (12, 21%). Pre-obesity and obesity are more common with boys. Very fat and extremely fat individuals could be found only among girls. These data show an unsatisfying nutritious status, which can be connected with inadequate nourishment and the inadequate way of life.
The evolutionary of male homosexuality
The evolutionary of male homosexuality
The problem addressed in this paper is the following. Based on Darwinian selection, inheritable traits become widespread only when they help individuals leave descendants. Male homosexual behavior should reduce the chances of leaving descendants. However, a number of traditional societies appear to tolerate, even encourage, certain forms of male homosexual behavior. The question is, how has such behavior come to be traditional? To answer this question, we have examined a number of Native American societies identified as tolerating male homosexual behavior, that is, having a berdache institutionalized role, and examined whether such behavior, indeed, reduces the leaving of descendants. Essentially, the main finding is that in these traditional societies there is a positive relationship between tolerated male homosexual behavior and polygyny. The main reason for tolerated male homosexual behavior in the societies examined is that it reduces conflict between post-pubertal, unmarried males and adult, married ones, over access to female sexuality, and thereby increase the chances of the unmarried males to survive and eventually leave descendants.
The factor analysis of the anthropometrical parameters of girls aged 16-18
The factor analysis of the anthropometrical parameters of girls aged 16-18
The factor analysis was conducted in the anthropometrical area on a sample of 116 girls aged 16-18. Two factors were obtained such as: - the factor of longitudinal skeleton dimension with the projection of the following largest coefficients parameters: the arm length, the leg length and the height. The factor of body voluminosity with the largest coefficients parameters projections are as follows: the body mass, the lower leg volume, the chest volume and the upper arm volume.
The frequency of premature segregation of centromeres in persons exposed to ionizing radiation
The frequency of premature segregation of centromeres in persons exposed to ionizing radiation
The objective of study was to establish the incidence of PCD in metaphases of medical personnel occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation in relation to the controls. Moorchaed's micromethod and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) were used for evaluation of clastogenic effect. The analysis of results revealed statistically significant difference (p<0.05) of PCD manifestation in metaphases any chromosome and the control group. In addition, significantly higher values were found in a total number of chromosomes with PCD than in the controls (p<0.05). Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) was used to monitor the centromeric region of chromosome 18 in metaphases and interphasic nuclei. Cytogenic analysis showed that the manifestation of PCD in chromosome 18 was 11.19% in metaphases and 10.88% in interphasic nuclei, while in the controls, the presentation of PCD in chromosome 18 was 7.58% in mataphases and 7.78% in interphasic nuclei. The study confirmed that the subjects occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation had PCD phenomenon, wich was verified in metaphases and interphasic nuclei in a significant frequency rate. The induction of PCD by various genotoxic agents directs us to recognize PCD as parametar of genotoxic risk to mankind and its environment.
The frequency of the round back occurrence with cyfosis disturbances of the 13-years old children spinal column
The frequency of the round back occurrence with cyfosis disturbances of the 13-years old children spinal column
The frequency of the round back occurrence is established with cyfosis disturbances of the spinal column with 511 tested persons, both sexes. The sample is taken from the population of the seventh grade pupils from Podgorica and Nikšić. The estimate of the state of this type of disturbance is established by using combined methods and techniques of measuring, usable for the mass searching's and school conditions. The research showed that the round back, as a specific form of cyfosis disturbances was present with the tested population. The whole percent of the cyfosis and the round back was approximate to the whole percent of the lordosis disturbances what was the result of the compensating activity of active and passive forces on the spinal column. The result was that the biggest percent of the found backs were easier forms of the functional state, which could be successfully corrected by using determinate corrections .
The frequency of vertex hair whirlpool among pupils of 'Đuro Salaj' primary school in Subotica
The frequency of vertex hair whirlpool among pupils of 'Đuro Salaj' primary school in Subotica
This paper presents the results of antroposcopic examination conducted among school-age children. The vertex hair whirlpool is one of the morphological features of humans. If it exists, it has a spiral, primitive shape, which often occurs in nature. Examinees differ in having or not having the whirlpool, in the number of whirlpools, in its position on the vertex, in its position in relation to the direction of watch hands, just as well as in its position in relation to the back of the head. Having examined 736 pupils, we found that it occurs more often among boys than girls. In most cases it is simple, we did not find any triple ones. It is of central position and is of clockwise direction.
The historical development of the UVC 'student' from Nis, from its founding to its entry into the First federal league
The historical development of the UVC 'student' from Nis, from its founding to its entry into the First federal league
The immediate interconnection and conditioning of occurrences over a longer period of time without any reference to their dynamics indicate the necessity for a historical approach to the study of the origins and development of volleyball as a sport in the city of Nis. A great deal of research is in fact carried out by means of this historical method, in order for the occurrence to be studied, first of all, in the past, then to create the realistic conditions for the prediction of what will happen in the future. By studying material in the archives that deals with the development of volleyball as a sport in Nis, during the period starting from 1966, we were able to obtain the fact that the most interesting and most successful period lasted during the seventies. Volleyball as a sport started flourishing in Nis precisely with the founding of the UVC "Student", and all the way to the time when it qualified for the First Federal League in 1976. This paper deals with the activities which are connected to the dealings and development of the club, as well as the economic and social relations which affected the working of the club, but also the results the club achieved with the effects on the development of volleyball as a sport and physical education in general in Nis. The authors have chosen this particular time span as they consider it to be the most successful period in the life of this club, and would particularly like to point it out and make it more accessible to a wider audience.
