The problems and perspectives of contemporary Yugoslav anthropology
The problems and perspectives of contemporary Yugoslav anthropology
Current Yugoslav Anthropology has a relatively long tradition. It developed in parallel with the development of European anthropological thought, making its contribution largely as historical, ethnic and biophysical anthropology. Biophysical anthropology received a considerably larger significance following the foundation of the Yugoslav Anthropological Society in 1959, together with its introduction into university classes in more Yugoslav centres, in which other branches of anthropology (such as medicine, stomatology, sport, history, and ethnic anthropology) were developed. Specific results were achieved in biology, population history ontogenetics, studies into the variables of human population, and other biophysical characteristics of the Yugoslav population. On the basis of their studies, the Yugoslav Anthropological Society has contributed to the development of general anthropological thought.
The recidivism of psychopathic criminals
The recidivism of psychopathic criminals
A sample of 314 adult criminals was divided, by iterative K-means algorithm on the basis of results on 6 tests of psychopathy, on a sub-sample of 148 normal and a sub-sample of 166 psychopaths with efficacy of classification of 98%. In to same time the sample was divided, on the basis of criminal records, on a sub-sample of 156 non-recidivists and a sub-sample of 162 recidivist. Relations between psychopathy and recidivism were examined by a method of correspondence analysis. Probability of recidivism was significantly greater in the sub-sample of psychopaths. This result is in good accordance with the results obtained in some previous investigations. The probability of habitual criminal behavior depends of the cognitive, and especially, cognitive disorders, and both of them are most probable in the psychopathic segment of human population.
The relations between morphological characteristics and specific motoric abilities of female hand-ball players
The relations between morphological characteristics and specific motoric abilities of female hand-ball players
Researches into the relations between morphological characteristics and specific motoric abilities of quality female hand-ball players have defined a few canonic factors that explain the structure of those relations in a following sense: 1. Better development of morphological dimensions enables an important advantage in expressing specific motoric abilities of female hand-ball players; 2. The system of predictable morphological variables shows that especially important influence on general specific motoric abilities of female hand-ball players is made by a size of a hand.
The relations between phylogenetic and genetic factors in genesis of malformations of a human being
The relations between phylogenetic and genetic factors in genesis of malformations of a human being
Protoculture, the beginning of which is many thousand years before the phenomenon of Homo sapiens, is the main centre of selection for the development of human brain, that is for the certain biological changes of man. The meaning of the culture is essential for the continuation of the biological evolution up to the phenomenon of the sapiens, and not only from the phenomenon of the sapiens, of which, until recently, we have had no conjectures. The culture itself made the man possible to maintain himself and to keep on progressing in spite of all illnesses, deformations and degeneration which have been raised in relation to orthostatism.
The relationship between the warming-up of different duration and the mobility of hip joint in the sagital in the frontal plane
The relationship between the warming-up of different duration and the mobility of hip joint in the sagital in the frontal plane
The paper deals with the relationship between the warming - up duration (5 10 and 15 minutes per group) and the mobility and the hip - joint in the sagital in the frontal plane. The author used the position called 'front splits' in the to bestride lateral in order to find the result he was interested in. The author measured the mobility before and after the warming-up of 288 students, boys and girls, aged seventeen. Some of them practiced sport and some didn't. It was concluded that the mobility was significantly increased by the warming-up. It was also concluded that the mobility of the hip-joint is related to the duration of the warming-up.
The selection of youth basketball shooters on the basis of morphological characteristics
The selection of youth basketball shooters on the basis of morphological characteristics
The goal of the research was to determine the influents of some morphological characteristics on the precision results of basketball shooting with 13-years old boys. The sample of the subjects were 13-years old boys who were training basketball. The system of prediction variables was made of 15 morphological tests. It was determined by a regression analysis that there was remarkable influence of some morphological characteristics on the precision of basketball shooting.
The shape of the upper premolar teeth having reference to relation of knots
The shape of the upper premolar teeth having reference to relation of knots
The examination is performed on the models of 440 orthodontic patients of the Clinic of stomatology in Niš. We have been examining the shapes of the upper premolar teeth (P1 and P2) which characterize our patients and their position in a jowl. The analysis have shown that the majority of P1 according to its shoe belongs to the II type category (palatol knot is a bit lower then buccol) - 73,84%, and the majority of P2 belong to the III type category (both of the knots are in the same heights) - 56,09%, the most frequently the are placed on the right and left side of a jowl in both cases (P, = 75,10%; P2 = 79,01%).
The somatotype differences with regard to the gender of students
The somatotype differences with regard to the gender of students
The difference between male and female students was examined in 24 anthropo-metrical variables and 9 parameters of the morphological structure on a sample of 56 third-year students of the Faculty of Physical Culture divided in two subsamples. Data analysis was carried out and basic statistics was calculated. The differences between male and female students were determined by the use of the multivariate analysis of variance and by discriminative analysis. The results indicate that the differences of the two subsamples in the system of the applied anthropometrical variables as well as in the morphological structure parameters are statistically significant.
The somatotype of the Faculty of Physical Culture students
The somatotype of the Faculty of Physical Culture students
The measuring of the anthropometrical parameters was carried out according to the International Biological Programme on a sample of 56 students (subsample of 24 female and subsample of 32 male at the Faculty of Physical Culture in Novi Sad in 1994). The sample of variables consisted of 24 anthropometrical parameters on the basis of which the indexes of the morphological structure in the absolute and relative variables were calculated (the mass of fats, the muscle mass, the skeleton mass, the parenchyma mass and fat free body mass). Data analysis was carried out separately both for male and female students and they were presented in a textual and tabular form.
The style of behavior of teachers/professors as a factor influencing the general attitude of pupils towards the physical education classes
The style of behavior of teachers/professors as a factor influencing the general attitude of pupils towards the physical education classes
The data obtained in the research gave the following results: It was found that the success of the pupils in the previous school year is connected in a statistically significant way with the claim the teacher liked them (excellent pupils have the strongest impression that the teacher likes them). Pupils whose fathers have very high or high education prefer the answer 'I do not agree' to the claim 'he is of a good physical condition', while pupils whose fathers are of medium-level education more often choose the answer 'I am not sure'. There is a noticeable difference in the attitudes of various classes in the fourth year of study towards statements about how well their teacher teaches (claims 2 and 4), and also towards the claim that a man can learn only in the physical exercise classes in school to accept defeat without a grudge. Other variables: gender, how highly skilled the mother is (which means, her level of education for her job) and whether the pupil is active in sport in his/her own free time, were not observed to be discriminative for this research.
The style of teacher 'velour and the students' attitudes towards the values of P.E. classes
The style of teacher 'velour and the students' attitudes towards the values of P.E. classes
The connection between the style of behavior of the teacher of P.E. and the attitudes of students towards the values of P.E. classes was studied on example of 421 students from the first and the third grade of secondary schools in Sombor and Apatin. Previously, it has been identified the seven styles of behavior of the teachers by the students perception of their behavior. There has been found statistically significant connection between the democratic style, the style of social support and demotivating style, on one side, and students' attitudes towards the values of P.E. classes on the other. However, there hasn't been found statistically significant individual connection between the other styles (the indifferent, the individual, the authoritative and positive feed back) and students' attitudes towards the values of P.E. classes.
