Three good heroes
Three good heroes
This paper is about the development of the epic model of "the three good heroes" in the diachronic perspective. The nomenclature and the functions of the hero are traced and the relationship between variant and invariant elements of the sujet is highlighted. The consequences of the intertwined motives are interpreted in the context of the genre poetics. The purpose of the paper is to establish the extent to which the shaping of the variants includes the factors of the time of performance and locality on which the poem was recorded. This paper also looks at the role of the predominant attitude of the community, as well as the skill of the talented individual.
Topic of metempsychosis in the poetry of Jela Spiridonović-Savić
Topic of metempsychosis in the poetry of Jela Spiridonović-Savić
Topic of metempsychosis in the poetry of Jela Spiridonović-Savić (1890-1974) remained under-researched so far, although it seems to be crucial for better understanding of her entire work. For example, short story “Miss Georgina” , usually seen as a study of madness, can be understood as a fantastic one, if the reader accepts the metempsychosis of the main character. In a long poem “The Pergaments” reincarnation is preached by a monk of Mount Athos. The poetess, however, does not oppose metempsychosis to Christianity, but merges them in her idiosyncratic version of Christian mysticism. Jela Spiridonović-Savić was in contact with a group of female intellectuals interested in occultism, and inclined toward belief in reincarnation, but what matters more is that she uses metempsychosis s a poetic tool to create the transcendental atmosphere in her poetry.
Towards a biography of Milivoj Petković
Towards a biography of Milivoj Petković
The paper presents documents about unsuccessful attempt by literary historian Milivoj Petković from the beginning of the 1960s to get the so-called artistic pension. These documents testify about relations in the so-called the guild, about the incompleteness of the then legal regulations, but also closer illuminate the scientific work of Milivoje Petković.
Trapez’ premudrosti arhiepiskopa Danilo II
Trapez’ premudrosti arhiepiskopa Danilo II
Otnošenie arhiepiskopa Danilo II k teorii i teologii tvorčestva privlekalo vnimanie istorikov iskusstva i literaturovedov. Odnako neobhodimo osvetit' nekotorye nedostatočno izučennye aspekty dannogo otnošenija. Prežde vsego eto kasaetsja konkretizacii soderžanija 'trapezy iz literaturnyh jastv' Danilo II, kotoroj on posvjatil osoboe vnimanie kak v literature, tak i vo freskovoj živopisi. Tvorčeskaja poetika Danilo II rassmatrivaetsja i v kontekste tvorčeskogo portreta, narisovannogo ego talantlivym Učenikom. Vo vseh etih mestah govoritsja o proishoždenii i smysle tvorčestva, i oni mogut byt' ob''edineny v tri osnovnye gruppy motivov: pitanie iz istočnika duhovnoj blagodati, nadelenie blagodat'ju jazyka i ust, a takže sladost' božestvennyh slov.

Two letters from Slobodan Jovanović to Milan Rakić
The paper features two letters from historian and lawyer Slobodan Jovanović addressed to writer and diplomat Milan Rakić. This correspondence provides interesting information on their mutual ties and relations. The influence of the journal “The Serbian Literary Gazette” and the impact of Rakić’s poetry is reflected in this correspondence and gives an insight into the time in which they originated. Therefore the letters are considered a significant contribution to the history of Serbian culture.
