Lucida intervalla was founded by a group of members of the Department of Classical Studies in Belgrade in 1998, at the time when they perceived their reading and interpreting of ancient texts as sobering acts and breakouts from confusing reality. Hence the name of the journal. The initial idea was to provide students of Classics and general audience with reliable and up to date editions (introductions, original texts, translations, and commentaries) of important and not yet translated works of Greek and Latin literature. In the next 15 years more than 40 volumes were published. The focus of the journal gradually shifted from translations to scholarly contributions, while the proportion of contributions in languages other than Serbian increased slowly but steadily. Today Lucida intervalla is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to publishing original scholarly research in all areas of Classical Studies.

- Realnost realnih pogodbenih rečenica u grčkom
- Članak se bavi problemom klasifikacije pogodbenih rečenica u grčkom jeziku i pitanjem značenja različitih tipova kondicionala. Najre je ponuđen kratak pregled dve poznate klasifikacije hipotetičkih rečenica, Goodwinove podele kondicionala prema vremenu na koje se odnose i Gildersleeveove podele prema upotrebi. Autor prihvata stanovište po kojem druga podela vernije održava motivaciju u osnovi svake od četiri klase kondicionala u grčkom. Zatim se ispituje značenje protaze u prvoj grupi pogodbenih rečenica i ukazuje na mogućnost da se ona trojako razume. Autor razmatra gledište Richarda A. Younga, proisteklo iz primene teorije govornog čina na razumevanje upotrebe kondicionala u Novom Zavetu, da prilikom utvrđivanja značenja određene pogodbe jednaku pažnju treba posvetiti jezičkom sadržaju hipotetičkog iskaza kao i kontekstu u koji je ovaj smešten te nameri govornika ili pisca. Youngovo zapažanje o upotrebi prve klase kondicionala u dve vrste argumenata i ranije utvrđena podela na tri podgrupe unutar ove klase prema značenju prozaze proveravaju se i potvrđuju na primerima filozofskih argumenata iz Aristotelove "Fizike".

- Sallust on Mark Antony
- It was previously postulated and convincingly shown that Sallust was not a friend of Octavian, Mark Antony and Lepidus’ regime, although there is no information that he openly opposed the Triumvirs. Sallust’s retirement from public offi ce after Caesar’s death and more than one allusion to contemporary politics in his monographs leave no space for any other conclusion. The aim of this contribution is to show that Sallust’s hidden critique – which was the only possible at the time when the memories of recent suff erings during the Civil War and proscriptions were still strong – was specially aimed against Mark Antony. Concluding argument – but not the only one – could be found in Sallust’s (so far) unclear remark on hunting as servilium offi cium (Cat. 4.1): in fact, well known scandalous behaviour of Mark Antony and Cleopatra included hunting (Plut.
